Lahiru Madushanka Senevirathna is a film editor and colourist based in Stuttgart, Germany and Colombo, Sri Lanka. Born in 1993 in Sri Lanka’s North-Western Province, he began his formal training at the Sri Lanka Foundation Digital Film Academy, where he earned a Higher National Diploma in Film and Television, specializing in Editing and Sound Design. Following his graduation, Lahiru was selected to join the International Class at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Germany. In 2019, he was invited to support fellow filmmakers at the Clinik Kathmandu Documentary Film Lab in Nepal, contributing his editing expertise. He later completed his Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Technology from Kingston University, UK, graduating with First Class Honors.

Over the past 11 years, Lahiru has worked across multiple leading Sri Lankan TV stations and film postproduction houses, contributing to over 150 projects including corporate content, commercials, music videos, short films, and feature films internationally. He has edited 4 feature-length films and holds credits on more than 15 theatrical features, serving in roles such as Online Editor and Assistant Editor. His work has been theatrically released in cinemas across Los Angeles, Canada, Australia, and Sri Lanka. 

He trained under Ravindra Guruge, Sri Lanka’s most senior film editor, serving as his main assistant editor. He also worked alongside renowned colourist Dinindu Jagoda, supporting a range of high-profile projects. In 2017, he was nominated for Best Editor and Best Sound Designer at the 3rd Colombo International Student Film Festival, further affirming his emerging talent in postproduction.

Currently, Lahiru is pursuing his Master’s degree in Film Editing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, where he holds the distinction of being the first-ever international student in the editing department.
